Success

Three people look towards the camera with smiles, two people sit in wheel chairs while the middle man stands up.

Are we too quick to measure success as an academic achievement? Percentage? Or pass rate?

Success for our interns is as individual as they are. Of course success can be measured in the employment outcomes of our young people as they complete their employability skills course.

Although for most of our interns, success is the end product of a goal or challenge.

Success is learning how to use public transport confidently, so that you can arrive at work on time.

Success is being work-ready having showered, dressed and having a can-do attitude

Success is meeting new people for the first time and knowing that your job coach is right there willing you to succeed in making friendships.

Success is finishing a task to the best of your ability and feeling proud.

Success is being included in social events.

Success is learning how to budget, shop and make your own lunches.

Success is knowing that you are valued and your opinions respected.

Success is achieving equality and inclusion in your local community.

At the Legacy Project, our dedicated job coaches advocate for our passionate interns so that each individual achieves their own success.

We do this by celebrating a job well done, praise from an employer or tutor, taking photos showing their progression and valuing the friendships made.

Above all we reassure, respect and promote resilience as a reminder that success is achievable.
