A poem of jubilee joy

A poem of Jubilee joy

Glowing with glitter,

Braids secured,

The sun is beaming,

We will be great, I am sure.

Standing together,

Rehearsing one last time,

The stage awaits and these kids will shine.

Walking forward into place,

Take a deep breath in the space.

Twirling,

Stepping,

Signing,

Smiling,

We dance jazz to the 50s til fight song comes on.

Through our piece we show our strength,

Resilient young people create this event.

Our souls, bodies and minds collide,

Moving together, bringing a tear to my eye.

Dance for love, for joy, for peace,

For the audience clapping to the beat.

Dance in any way we can,

To celebrate, to express, that’s the plan.

To laugh, to cry, to amaze,

Standing in the crowd’s gaze,

To be proud of who we are and the way we live,

Because we know just how much we have to give.
